Today marked the official start of the 2015 Farragut Football season, as the Admirals took to the field for the first time in full pads. Monday and Wednesday will be two-a-day practices for the Admirals, while Tuesday and Thursday the Admirals will only have one morning practice. The week will end with a scrimmage against former region rival Ooltewah at Farragut on Friday, July 31st. The Owls went 9-2 last year and lost in the 1st round of the TSSAA playoffs. The following Thursday, August
7th, Farragut host Cookeville, who went 8-3 last year. On Tuesday, August 11th, Farragut will travel to Bradley Central in Cleveland to take on another former region rival. The final dress rehearsal before the 2015 season opener against Powell will be Friday, August 14th in the annual KOC Jamboree. The jamboree has been moved to Knox-
West High School after Bearden High School’s field will not be ready, and the Admirals play in the 2nd quarter against Hardin Valley. The following week will be see the Admirals preparing for August 21st, the opening game at Powell. Admirals Take Part in Maryville College 7v7 Day
Over 30 local teams traveled to Maryville College for the annual 7-on-7 Pass Perimeter Practice Day. The event began at Lenoir City High School in the summer of 2007. It has been at Maryville College since 2008. There were two sessions for teams to come in and compete against other schools. While it’s a lot different than what the players will experience on Friday nights, it does help.
On Saturday, the Admirals took to the field at Maryville College to showcase their air attack at the 2015 Maryville College 7v7 Day. The Admirals parcitpated in the morning session and faced off against Upperman, Boyd-Buchanan, Cookeville, and finally Grace Christian Academy. The Admirals looked very sound across the board in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity platoons.
Remember, the Admirals have several dates remaining on the 7v7 circuit before they start full padded practice on July 27th. Upcoming Dates:

Several Admirals Selected to Post Season Awards Lists




The 2014 Admirals had a total of four different players selected to five separate award lists. Senior OL Nate Gilliam, a 2015 Wake Forest commit, was the most selected player, being named to four separate lists, most notable being selected to the 2014 6A Class 6A All-State Team, the premier list of players in the largest football classification in Tennessee.

Admiral Nate Gilliam, a class of 2015 3-Star Wake Forest commit and 2014 District 4-AAA Offensive Lineman of the Year, has been selected to play in the 2014 Toyota East vs. West All Star game on Friday, December 12th.
